The life of James White is an odyssey, a journey of fame and the ups and downs along the way. The glory of fame is too often revered as we forget the prison it forces onto us. This show explores the idea of fame and the love, or infatuation, that comes with it. What is true and what is projected? Who can say who James White is ; the society says, the critics define, the fans follow, the industry fabricates. Who is forgotten? Who are the real heroes?

Pierrick St-Pierre a.k.a James White explores the legacy left by James Brown, attempting to marry it to the world of contemporary circus. Based on Brown's works, our main protagonist James White uses object manipulation, dance, mime, puppetry, vocals and role play to elaborate on the theme of FAME and what it means to be famous nowadays. Through a psychological and sociological exploration, Pierrick St-Pierre attempts to catch the essence of the struggle in the individual’s goal of success, and the influence of mass media projecting this principle onto an unstable society. James White is sometimes young, sometimes old, sometimes disillusioned, sometimes wise. He will make you feel as if this was your story, because who never dreamed of being famous one day?
